Before, during, and after the Hyco Lake July 4th boat parade, West and Woodall will be tossing out bottles of water with coozies.  We hope to keep the water iced enough to provide on-the-spot refreshment.  Then keep the coozie on your boat, in your boathouse, or any where you might need it in the future to keep your next beverage frosty! 

To add a little excitement to the mix, West and Woodall will announce several numbers on our Facebook Hyco Lake fan page after we toss out the bottles.  Each bottle will be individually numbered and if you are one of the lucky folks with a bottle matching a selected number--bring it by the office--we'll have some cash waiting for you!

Anyone else noticed all the trash under the bridges? West and Woodall introduces lots of new people to Hyco and we love to talk about how gorgeous Hyco Lake is. Having to idle past all the trash was making us sad, so we decided to try and make a difference! There was a lot of trash, and some of it smelly enough to make you gag--but we have cleaned a few of the bridges for the 4th weekend.

The Person-Caswell Lake Authority reminds you to pick up your new boat dock tag at the office.  All docks have been reassigned new numbers so you’ll have to get the new tag and put it up.  West and Woodall, Town, Lake and Country has volunteered to go get your tag and put it up if you can’t get up here soon to do it or if you don’t have the means to mount the tag.  The new numbers are suppose to be located in a place that can be viewed from the water.

The numbering system uses the logic of starting at the North Hyco Hwy 57 bridge going counterclockwise around the shoreline and ending up back at the bridge so if you are near St. Georges, your number may be single digits and if near Tommy Middleton, then 2400 or so.

West & Woodall, Town Lake and Country Properties is now offering rentals on Hyco and Mayo Lake.  The demand for rentals on the lake is growing and we need more inventory.

According to the National Assocation of Realtor's website (www.realtor.org) the First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit will apply to purchases between January 1, 2009 and December 1, 2009.  A first time homebuyer is defined as the purchaser or the purchaser's spouse wh has not owned a principle residence in 3 years previous to purchase.  The credit does not have to be repaid and is equal to 10% of the home's purchase price up to a maximum of $8,000.  Homeowner must live in the home for three years or the credit is recaptured on the sale of the property.
